Idoteas are cool little bees of the sea!

i found out about small marine crustaceans called idoteas that help red algae reproduce in a sort of sea pollination (although algae don’t have pollen). look at the little buddy.

this is the first known incident of algae pollination and scientists think by studying this they could find out how pollination of flowering plants evolved!

How small is it? Any reference point to get an idea of its size?

about 2-4 cms. so tiny! the males are larger than the females
